Victorian Train Weekend is part of the events calendar at the Midland Railway - Butterley in Derbyshire.
Join us for our Victorian Train Weekend and step back in time to the golden age of rail travel. Beautifully restored vintage carriages will be brought out and steam-hauled along the line, offering visitors a rare chance to experience rail travel as it would have been over 100 years ago.
What to expect:
- Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October
- LMS Jinty 16440 in steam to celebrate its 100th birthday
- Volunteers on board in authentic period costume
- Younger visitors can also enjoy a special vintage-themed I-Spy competition.
- Visitors in Victorian costume travel at half price on the day (on-the-day tickets only)
- Swanwick Junction: church, West Shed, kids’ play area and Country Park
