Become a Family MemberIf you are from an ethnic minority, the LGBTQ community or disabled i suggest you stay clear from this establishment. I am absolutely disgusted at how the management has allowed such vile human beings to work at a business which is a public interest organisation. I have felt targeted and what's worse is the facade staff members put on to seem nice. Me and a number of friends have come to Barnsley metrodome on numerous occasions for events and for the carvery upstairs to enjoy ourselves (all of us being from different backgrounds) and have all of us have experienced snydey comments and felt prejudice from multiple staff members. The bouncers are awful when you see them laugh behind your back as well as mutter words and comments on my friends sexualities and races as well as us overhearing members of staff commenting on women's bodies calling so and so 'Fit' and another having a 'nice ass'. This should not be allowed at a workplace as well as a workplace that I've seen hire many young women who must be sexualised at work seeing as though your staff members act the way they do. And one of the chefs who is a larger man, who ive seen upstairs and downstairs has been awful with racist remarks my (white) friend overheard him say to colleagues who all laughed off the comment. When ive seen him he's always foaming at the mouth and drooling like a dog waiting for its tea which makes me question the foods health and safety regulations in case hes accidentally drooled into customers food. And when ive tried to make a complaint nobody was available to speak to so whoever is in charge has allowed for staff members like this to work at your establishment and make me and my friends feel small and upset. I very much doubt I'm alone in this and there may be many other people who don't wish to speak on it. Lastly I have noticed a lack in diversity at the establishment as well, I heard there is a member of staff that is black and i've seen him on Facebook but other than that it seems as though everyone at this business who works there is white, it truly shows whose welcome and whose not as this establishment lacks the diversity the 21st century has. I do not recommend anyone to come to and visit unless serious changes happen.
Following attendance of a swimming session at Barnsley metrodome today, myself and my family were highly dissatisfied with a number of things as follows. The diving board area closed along with wave pool not working. These are part of the main attraction to the pool and not to be notified whilst booking is totally unacceptable having noted still paying full price. These areas being closed and not working meant the main pools were alot busier alowing no room to swim. The main thing that was very disappointing was the cleanliness of the changing areas. This was disgraceful! Rubbish, litter and used wrist bands everywhere along with a high presence of dirt from people's shoes all over the floor. Whilst we have visited in the past this has normally been managed and kept clean with at least one person in attendance of the changing area squeegeing the floor clean all the time but this was not the case today. Overall we are very disappointed as our previous experience has been good and will not look to return in the near future. I hope you can take the above as constructive criticism and make changes to give a better experience for others in the future.
Really good. My boy absolutely loved it. Staff really helpful and life guards very vigilant. Il be coming back, next time with my 2 other girls.
There's a cool play area indoors! The swimming was great and the food looked/smelt delishious! The prices weren't bad, but kids wanted Mc Ds. Get there in plenty of time to get parked. (Saturday visit)
Went here for a function just before Christmas. I haven't been here in years as moved out of the area. It very well appointed with loads to do with the family. Plenty of parking and close to the town centre for public transport use, you cant go wrong.
