Avalon Archaeology Family Tour

The Family Tour is part of the what’s-on at Avalon Archaeology, South West Heritage Trust’s reconstructed Iron Age, Roman, Saxon and Viking buildings in the Avalon Marshes. “Step back in time on a hands-on family tour where children can do history, not just learn about it.”

What to expect:

• Thursday 29 October 2026, two tours: 11:00-12:30 (shown fully booked) and 13:30-15:00
• “Make a clay pot in an Iron Age roundhouse, discover a roman mosaic, gather around the fire in the Mead Hall to hear the epic tale of Beowulf and Grendel, strike your own coin to take home, and carve a Viking rune aboard our Viking boat.”
• “This tour is specially designed for children aged 7-11 and their grown-ups.”
• “The tour will last for approximately 1 hour, after which you can enjoy the site at your own pace.”
• “Adults and children £9.25 each, under 5’s free.”
• “The tour price includes free re-entry to the site during normal opening hours for the remainder of the calendar year.”
