Bats, Moths & Moonlight is part of the programme at Haigh Woodland Park in Wigan. A gentle guided walk into the woodland at dusk with bat detectors, and a moth light set up along the way to see what the night brings in.
What to expect:
- Thursday 15 October 2026, meeting outside the Haigh Visitors Centre at 6pm
- Bat detectors are used "to listen for and identify bats as they emerge at dusk"
- After a short walk the group returns to the moth light "to discover which species have visited"
- "This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to experience the woodland after dark"
- Bring "A torch (if you have one)" and "Suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear"
