About this event
960 years since the Battle of Hastings took place, the one and only re-enactment returns. On the very spot where King Harold and Duke William fought in 1066, hundreds of reenactors recreate the drama and intensity of this legendary conflict - hear the rush of hooves and see arrows fly as Saxon and Norman soldiers battle it out.
What to expect:
- Sat 10 – Sun 11 October 2026, 10am – 5pm
- Hundreds of reenactors staging the battle on the original battlefield
- Living history camps from both armies, showing a taste of life in 1066
- Birds of prey displays from expert falconers
- Battle's Jester, the tale of the Bayeux Tapestry performed, and traditional music
- Young knights can test their skills at sword school and join their own recreation of the battle
