A fabulous historic site. English Heritage should be proud of this highly interesting and well managed location. Lots to see and read, lovely play area and games for the kids, great cafe with pleasant staff. My youngest thoroughly enjoyed running around in the Undercrofts, and my eldest was fascinated by the history.

Worth the money. Wish national trust would nail it like English Heritage. I'd become a member if there were more places down south. Lots to see and do for all ages. Vast grounds, lots of helpful staff, play area for kids. Worth the money. Such unique place with heaps of history. Something for everyone

Wonderful grounds to walk around and try and recreate the history in your head. I wish there was a proper museum here too, that told more information about the Saxons and their norman counter parts. Great gift shop Overall a good visit but a bit expensive for the lack of displays

Fabulous day out. Loads to see. Long walk round the battlefield with signs, a chainsaw carving sculpture trail, and optional audio guide (available at no extra cost) Lots of spiral staircases to the gatehouse exhibitions and rooftop views not accessible for little children or those with mobility issues, but well worth it if you are ablebodied. Extremely long wait for food in the cafe, and drinks and food not even supplied at the same time. Waited 20 minutes to order, then 15 minutes for drinks and a further 10 mins for food. No safe gluten free options. Gluten free brownies in cafe contaminated by shared tongs that had obviously been used for the "normal" doughnuts next to them. Staff were extremely polite but obviously overworked and stressed. Only found one set of 5toilets in cafe for entire site and one of those was out of order, water was tepid, and soap dispensers damaged/broken. Not regularly checked because towels and paper all over the floor.

Have been to Battle a few times now and we have English Heritage membership and Battle Abbey is always a great one to visit. A great place to visit if you have children, with a lovely park, a couple of interactive games and a film to watch about the Battle in the Discover Centre plus plenty of space for them to run about an play and my son loves running around in the hedges at the end of the abbey. It's a lovely walk around the abbey and it's grounds and there is also a way to to look around the gate tower and other trinkets found on the site. Parking is only £4 for 6 hours as well so once you've finished looking around the abbey you can explore the village too.
