This autumn, National Trust Cymru is celebrating Calan Gaeaf at places across Wales. Calan Gaeaf marks the beginning of winter in the Welsh calendar on 1 November. Traditionally, the night before – Nos Galan Gaeaf on 31 October – was associated with the changing of the seasons and a time when the boundary between this world and the Otherworld was thought to be at its thinnest.
