About this event
The Christmas Illuminations light up The Bishop's Palace and Gardens in Wells, the moated medieval palace with 14 acres of RHS partner gardens. This year's trail is built round The 12 Days of Christmas, and for the first time the installations run indoors as well.
What to expect:
- Tuesday 1 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, excluding 24, 25, 26 and 31 December
- "illuminated installations and beautiful classical music throughout the Palace and gardens"
- Off-peak (Mon-Thu, 1-17 Dec and 1-3 Jan): entry at 5pm and 6pm, last entry 6.30pm, site closes 7pm. Off-peak pricing is listed as £10 adult, £6 child, £30 family
- Peak (Fri-Sun 4-20 Dec, then daily 21-30 Dec): entry at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm, last entry 7.30pm, site closes 8pm. Peak pricing is listed as £12 adult, £8 child, £38 family
- "on weekend evenings live music, from our talented local choirs and musicians"
- "Annual Passes, RHS and Historic Houses cards are not valid for Christmas Illuminations."
