About this event
Join Latinas in Bristol for an all day event celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Often mistaken for Halloween, Día de Muertos is a celebration of life as well as death.
What to expect:
- Sunday 1 November 2026, drop-in between 11-1 and 2-4 on the second floor at Arnolfini
- Face painting, making paper ‘barriletes,’ and creating a catrina crown
- An ofrenda, an altar to commemorate the souls of deceased loved ones
- A dance performance at the end of the event
- Members of Latinas in Bristol share their knowledge of this Latin American tradition
- "This is open to anyone who fancies a go, all ages welcome."
