Farmer's Day at Longdown Activity Farm

Become a farmer for the day at Longdown. "Children aged 8 to 14 can help the Longdown team run the Farm for a day" - collecting the morning eggs, making up feed and milk bottles and joining the animal feeding rounds, with the farm's qualified staff alongside them.

What to expect:

• Weekends, plus weekdays in the school holidays, by arrangement with the farm
• "The cost is £80.00 per child for the whole day, which starts at 10am and finishes at 4.30pm."
• For ages 8 to 14 only - the farm states its insurance will not cover under-8s
• A drop-off day: parents are asked to leave their child with the team and collect at 4.30pm
• "Suitable protective clothing and footwear must be worn. Expect clothes (and child) to get dirty!"
• "At the end of the day each child is presented with a certificate of merit"
• Booked by emailing the farm with a preferred date, then buying a voucher
• "Farmer’s Days are not available at any time throughout the Easter holidays."
