Fossil Club (Age 5-7)

Fossil Club (Age 5-7) is part of the programme at the Natural Sciences Museum, a small charity museum of fossils, minerals and palaeontology on Holme Lane in north Sheffield.

A weekly Sunday club for young palaeontologists, with a new topic every week - millipedes one Sunday, Spinosaurus the next.

What to expect:

• Every Sunday morning, in the 5-7 age band
• Topics published to 29 November: Millipedes, Spinosaurus, Bats, Eyes and how they evolved, Gorgonopsids, Antarctica and Its Fossils, Moas, Rocks and Minerals
• Sessions "include laboratory activities, science-based learning, crafts, local field trips, microscope practice, and more"
• "Entry to Fossil Club also includes museum admission for the child."
• "Parental supervision is encouraged but not required." Anyone not staying completes a permission form and leaves emergency contact details
• Book online or, the museum says, "drop-in on the day"
• In summer the club also runs fossil-hunting nature walks around Sheffield
