About this event
Hands-on-History is the Museum of Oxford's regular drop-in handling session, in Gallery One of the museum inside the Town Hall on St Aldate's. It is tied to the Sounds of the City exhibition, so the objects are Oxford's music history.
What to expect:
- Drop in on 28 October, 14 November, 12 December and 21 December 2026, 11am-3pm
- "This activity will close for lunch 12.30-1.30pm."
- "Our volunteers will help you to touch, feel and handle objects ranging from a minidisk player to a concertina!"
- "You’ll also get to learn about the stories behind the objects and what they can tell us about our city’s amazing past."
- "This is a drop-in session with no need to book. Included with museum entry."
- Museum entry is £4 for adults, £2 for children aged 5-17, and free for under-5s
- "Please note this activity is subject to volunteer availability."
