About this event
Magic and Medicine is part of the programme at the Weald & Downland Living Museum, Singleton.
A day of Anglo-Saxon healing and herbal remedies for home-educating families: learn the beliefs and treatments of the past, then help make a healing balm from an authentic Saxon recipe, alongside Saxon-inspired crafts.
What to expect:
- Wednesday 25 November, 10am to 4pm
- A monthly Home Education Day for children aged 4-13, with an accompanying adult
- Day runs 10am-4pm: welcome activities, a pre-booked workshop slot, lunch, a second workshop or craft, then From the Archives at 2pm
- "No matter what time your workshop is booked, everyone is welcome to arrive at the Museum from 10am"
- Every child attending a workshop must have an adult with them
- Sessions are delivered at Key Stage 1 and 2 level, with flexibility to suit different learning styles
- Not included in Museum membership; free parking, a waterside cafe and picnic areas on site
