Life After Dark: Discover Nature's Night Lights

Experience the enchantment of Aden Country Park at night on this special Halloween glow adventure. Led by the Buchan Ranger, families head out on a guided night-time walk into the world of bioluminescent beasties, fungi and plants, and discover the science behind nature's glowing wonders.

What to expect:

• Friday 30 October 2026, 7.15pm–8.45pm — approximately 1 hour 30 minutes
• A ranger-led night walk at Aden Country Park, Mintlaw
• Use your "owl ears" to listen for owls, bats and other nocturnal wildlife, with hands-on exploration and fun facts along the trail
• Ultraviolet blacklight torches are provided for the glow-in-the-dark section — bring your own torch for the walk itself
• Wrap up warm, bring waterproof clothing and wear sturdy footwear
• All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and every adult attending must book a ticket
• Not suitable for pushchairs, and not suitable for dogs
• Free parking available
