Lights of Abraham: A Winter Lights Trail

The Lights of Abraham is part of the seasonal programme at the Heights of Abraham, the hilltop estate above Matlock Bath in Derbyshire.

Make your way down the festoon-lit riverside walkway before arriving at the base station to board your cable car, and take a moonlit flight across the river and above an avenue of colour. Once you arrive at the summit set off on the trail that winds through illuminated gardens, across boardwalks and along woodland paths.

What to expect:

• 20 November to 30 December 2026, excluding Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day
• Open from 16:00 to 20:00, last entry 19:00, which the venue notes may vary
• Look out for the neon forest, the ginormous moon, interactive stepping stones, instruments, winter garden & colourful surprises around every corner
• Firepits to toast marshmallows on and keep warm
• Some areas of the trail are not accessible to those with limited mobility
• Dogs are not allowed at the Lights of Abraham
