Medieval Book Binding Workshop

Medieval Book Binding Workshop is part of the programme at The Chester House Estate in Little Irchester, Wellingborough.

Make your own leather-bound (or vegan) pocket book and learn the history of book binding, in a style used from the medieval period onwards.

What to expect:

• Runs on Sunday 22 November 2026
• A pocket book of 64 pages, a leather cover and a decorative long-stitch binding
• The pencil doubles as the fastening that keeps the book closed
• A non-leather vegan version is available - tell them when you book
• A sharp knife, needles, a hole punch and a hammer are used
• "Suitable for complete beginners, and older children with adult supervision"
• All materials and tools are supplied on the day
• Everything you make, you take home
• A two-hour session; several sittings run, so pick your time when booking
• "Price: £25.00" (plus a £0.60 booking fee)
