Meet Santa

Meet Santa is part of the bicentenary programme at Bowes Railway, a rope-worked colliery railway museum in Springwell Village, Tyne and Wear. Santa is again bringing his sleigh into the museum for a service before his Christmas Eve deliveries: come along to the Saturday session, write a letter to Santa and post it, and then you are taken through to Santa's Grotto to receive a gift from Santa in person.

What to expect:

• Saturday 19 December 2026
• The event poster asks visitors to pop in any time between 1:30pm and 3:30pm
• Write a letter to Santa and post it before you go through
• Every child meets Santa in person and receives a gift
• £4 per child
• To book a place, text or email the museum - it operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays
• Held indoors in the museum at Springwell Village, NE9 7QJ
