About this event
Millworkers Wanted is part of the programme at Strutt's North Mill in Belper, in the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
It's 1820 and the mill is in need of new workers! Guides thread through history from Belper Mills to the workers' community, meeting colourful costumed characters along the way.
What to expect:
- Sunday 27 December 2026, 2pm; lasts approximately 90 minutes
- "Children weren't able to start work in Strutt's Mills until they were 9 years of age, so this walk is only suitable for those aged 9 and above."
- "It's Christmas, so a mince pie and festive non alcohololic drink is included!"
- Includes access into the North Mill, so a number of steps; cobbled streets with a slight incline
- Not suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs
- Dogs are not permitted
