About this event
Explore the magic of Antarctica this Christmas at our eco-conscious light trail. In the home of Antarctic explorer Captain Oates’ collections. Follow our penguins on a magical family adventure through the museum, including the Oates galleries.
What to expect:
- Thur 3 Dec, Fri 4 Dec, Sat 5 Dec, Thur 10 Dec, Fri 11 Dec, Sat 12 Dec, Thur 17 until Tue 22 Dec 2026
- 4pm – 8.15pm with entry timeslots at 4pm, 4.30pm, 5pm, 5.30pm, 6pm and 6.30pm
- Constellation crafts, dress up as an explorer and step inside a real Antarctic tent
- Outdoor Christmas lights trail with glowing penguins and a giant moon
- Much of the trail is inside the museum and can be enjoyed whatever the weather
- On Thursdays (off-peak) Adult £13.50, Children £9.50; all other days (peak) Adult £15, Children £10
- Cafe 4pm – 8.15pm (last orders 7.45pm)
