Nature Nippers is part of the programme at Naturezones Wildlife Education Trust, a ten-acre nature reserve and field study centre at Blackwater on the Isle of Wight. It is a weekly drop-in morning for the very youngest visitors and a grown-up.
What to expect:
- Tuesday mornings, 10.30am to 12pm, every week
- For “pre school children and children under 6 yrs old and accompanying adult”
- “No need to book just turn up. Currently £1/child”
- An adult stays with each child throughout — this is a parent-and-child session
- Ten acres of meadows and woodland to explore, with pond dipping, butterflies and a children's poetry trail and bug trail
- The reserve asks that children are attended at all times, especially near the ponds, and warns the ground is uneven in many areas
- Dogs are not allowed in the nature reserve itself
- Parking is limited in the small car park
