About this event
October Half Term at The Heart of The National Forest is Conkers' own school-holiday programme, Monday 19 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. Conkers describe a programme of seasonal activities for families - from hands-on crafts to ranger-led activities - as the National Forest turns autumn colours.
What to expect:
- Monday 19 October to Sunday 1 November 2026; included in the price of admission
- Halloween crafts and a Witches' Potion Scavenger Hunt with a free lucky dip at the end
- A Conkachoo train ride through the woodland as it shifts into autumn
- 4D cinema screening of Sonic the Hedgehog, open daily
- Amphitheatre shows at 12, 1.30 and 3pm - Flip & Dippy, Monster Mash, and animal encounters
- Ranger-led Spooktivities at 12, 1.45 and 3pm, bookable on the day at Discovery Reception
- Creepy Crafts drop-in station 11am-4pm daily at the Waterside ranger craft rooms
- Pottery painting 11am-4pm, prices start from £8 to paint; pedalos £10 for 30 minutes (3 years+)
