Get ready for an incredible weekend of steam, heritage, and non-stop action! Tanfield's Run It Gala is the send-off to its main operating season, recreating 1940s-built steam locomotive No. 68029 for one weekend only.
What to expect:
- Sunday 18 October 2026 (second day of the 17 & 18 October gala)
- Visiting star No. 68029 joins all 6 operational steam locomotives from the home fleet
- Frequent passenger services plus demonstration freight and coal trains
- 8 Miniature Traction Engines & 2 Full-Size Traction Engines in steam; model engineers' displays
- Vintage bus shuttle between East Tanfield and Marley Hill
- Music from the Cloth Cappers on Sunday at East Tanfield station between 11am – 2pm
- Adults (16-59) £19.08, Seniors (60+) £17.17, Children £5.30; Infants (4 and under) must be accompanied by an adult
