About this event
Santa by Starlight is part of the programme at East Somerset Railway, Cranmore Station in Somerset.
Visiting Santa is exciting enough; seeing him under starlight adds the sparkle. The Starlight train is the last departure of the day, so the whole trip happens in the dark.
What to expect:
- Eight dates in December 2026: 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 22 and 23 December
- The Starlight train departs Cranmore at 4.30pm each day
- On arrival every young guest receives a goody bag with festive colouring sheets, crayons and a Santa family quiz
- A 30-minute steam trip to the South Pole on the Special Santa train
- Santa's elves greet you back at Cranmore, with festive refreshments of mulled wine and warming hot dogs while you wait
- Your own time in Santa's grotto, where you can tell him how good you have been and receive your gift
- Tickets are available online through the railway's own DigiTickets shop
