About this event
Santa by Steam is part of Christmas at Bodmin Railway, the Cornish heritage line running out of Bodmin General. “Climb aboard our much-loved Santa Trains for a magical journey filled with festive cheer, family traditions and a very special visit from Santa.”
What to expect:
- Nine dates: 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 22, 23 and 24 December 2026
- A steam journey out along the Cornish branch line with Santa coming through the train
- “brass bands fill the platforms with festive music” and “beautifully decorated platforms” at Bodmin General
- “Look out for our much loved Judy Bagnall 0-4-0 saddle tank who will be making a guest appearance on platform 2 throughout the festive season”
- Booked in advance through the railway's own ticket system; departure times are not published on the website
- Cafe, gift shop and museum at Bodmin General; free car park (what3words digits.plans.song)
- Do not confuse Bodmin General with Bodmin Parkway — the railway is just up from the town centre
