About this event
The evening version of the grotto at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens: “Teatime & Early Evening Santa & Illuminate.” A visit to Father Christmas in his woodland cabin, wrapped inside the lit Illuminate trail.
What to expect:
- Nine dusk dates: 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 December 2026
- Teatime and early-evening timeslots, booked in advance and sold by the number of children seeing Santa
- “These tickets include Santa’s Grotto and Illuminate entry for the child visiting Santa only.”
- “Adults and any additional children will need a separate Illuminate ticket.” Buy those from the Christmas Illuminate event
- If your Illuminate timeslot differs from your grotto slot the operator says that is fine, as long as both are for the same date
- Outdoors after dark through the gardens and woodland valley
- High winds can close the gardens and cancel an evening, with tickets refunded
