About this event
The Santa Specials are part of the programme at Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum, a volunteer-run museum with its own narrow gauge railway near Keswick. "We've got a problem - we've lost Santa! Can you help us find him?" Travel behind the museum's steam engine 'Sir Tom', and when you find him children receive a present and there are seasonal refreshments for all.
What to expect:
- 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 22, 23 and 24 December 2026
- Trains at 10:15, 11:00, 11:45, 1:00, 1:45, 2:30 and 3:15; on 24 December, 10:15, 11:00, 11:45 and 12:30
- "The trip lasts around 25 minutes" — wrap up warm, as not all carriages are fully enclosed
- Sold as carriage compartments: "Compartment for 3 people - £30", for 4 people £40, for 5 £50 and "for 6 people (max 4 adults) - £60"
- "This event is suitable for children up to 13 years old with those over 13 classed as adults"
