About this event
Two of the Nene Valley Railway's Santa Special departures run as Quiet Trains - "a calm and welcoming Quiet Train with reduced noise and fewer crowds, created especially for SEND children and adults" - with the full Christmas experience still in place.
What to expect:
- Sunday 29 November and Saturday 5 December 2026, the 10:30 departure on each day
- Reduced noise levels and a more relaxed atmosphere than the other services
- Hosted by the railway's own Autism Railway Crew
- The full experience: Festive Golden Ticket, decorated booking office, market cabins and twinkling lights
- Santa Claus visits every child at their seat and hands out a festive wish coin to exchange for a gift
- Letters to Santa franked at his Post Office, and a marquee where you can meet Mrs Claus
- About two hours in all, including a 50-60 minute train ride from Wansford
- Limited wheelchair spaces - contact the railway when booking
