About this event
Steaming Weekend is part of the programme at Claymills Victorian Pumping Station in Burton upon Trent.
We raise steam 8 times a year. The steam drives the Victorian workshop, all four five-storey-high beam engines, more than 25 smaller engines and the working dynamos, the oldest in the country.
What to expect:
- Next: Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026, 10am-5pm; 2027 weekends from 16-17 January to 30-31 October
- Usually 10am-5pm, last admission 4pm; the January weekend's hours are listed separately on the page
- All four beam engines, the steam workshop and dynamos working
- Children's activities are prepared by the front of house team, plus a rat trail for young people
- "Adults £12.00; Concessions £10.00; Children 15 & under FREE (must be accompanied by a paying adult)"
- "Bookings for steaming & exhibition days are not taken, please pay on arrival."
