The Burton's 75th Birthday Party Kiln Firing

The Burton's 75th Birthday Party Kiln Firing is part of the programme at The Burton at Bideford, the art gallery and museum in Bideford, North Devon.

To celebrate our 75th birthday, we will be firing our Bottle Kiln for the first time in 13 years. Twenty local potters have made pots to be fired in the wood fired kiln, which, when lit, promises to be a dramatic sight as steam rises into the Autumn sky.

What to expect:

• Wednesday 28 October, 4pm to 8pm
• "FREE event"
• The Bottle Kiln is fired in Victoria Park, beside The Burton
• Thin Nick's pizza van and drinks in the galleries
• The galleries host the Let's Clay! open access studio, where visitors can get their hands dirty and play with clay
• The Burton is on the edge of Victoria Park, next to a council car park where charges apply
