About this event
The Enchanted Journey of Light is part of the Christmas programme at the Thursford Collection near Fakenham in Norfolk. Father Christmas is not at this event. You walk indoors through Fantasy Land past penguins, polar bears, giant teddy bears and the elves at the wrapping machine, then out to the top meadow for the Lantern Light Extravaganza - luminous sculptures from a fantasy underwater world to the wilds of the North Pole.
What to expect:
- Sixteen dates from Wednesday 2 December to Thursday 24 December 2026
- Timed entry slots; first entries are 16:30 on some dates, 17:45 on others and 14:30 on Christmas Eve
- Indoor animatronic scenes first, then an outdoor lantern trail - dress for the weather
- New lanterns have been added for 2026
- The operator says there is no maximum age, and that it is fully accessible
- "Ages 2 and under free (ticket required)"
- A cafeteria in Fantasy Land to pause at; tickets cannot be bought on the day
