Vespertine Garden is part of the programme at South Square Centre in Thornton, Bradford.
"Vespertine Garden is an ambitious new immersive installation exploring the hidden worlds of urban wildlife and the urgent need to protect the ecosystems we share." A glowing twilight world of UV-lit neon plants and creatures made from paper and recycled cardboard, developed with children and young people in Bradford.
What to expect:
- Launch night Friday 6 November 2026 (timed slots to book); last viewing Sunday 28 February 2027
- Bats, hedgehogs, foxes, owls and moths, with a soundscape by local sound artist Fran Bundey
- Includes creations made by children at the October half-term craft drop-in
- "The walkway through the gallery installation will be wide enough for a pram/wheelchair."
- "Noise cancelling headphones will be available on request"
- Galleries open Tuesday to Saturday 10.30am to 3pm and Sunday 12 to 3pm
