Wartime and Rationing Weekend

“Visit the Epping Ongar Railway for a taste of life during wartime and rationing.” Forties-dressed re-enactors, period vehicles and decorated stations across a whole weekend of heritage trains.

What to expect:

• Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June 2027
• “Vintage aircraft flypast (up to 6 aircraft) at approximately 13.50”
• “Period displays and re-enactors”, an arms display and 1940s singers and musicians across both days
• “Ride on our beautifully preserved fleet of vintage buses, included in your fare!”
• “Passengers are encouraged to come dressed in 1940s style civilian clothing.”
• “All fares include unlimited travel on our train and vintage London bus services on the date of your visit”
• On the day: “Adult: £25”, “Child: £10”, “Family: £65”
• Vintage tea room in the marquee at Ongar; cafes at both stations
