Visited today for the first time in 17 years, and everything is still the same and very worn. Didn’t feel clean at all so I daren’t let my 1 year old crawl about, was hoping to use as a new place to meet her friends for play dates but sadly won’t be returning. Aware that a weekday during school time isn’t a peak time in terms of staffing but I had to stand and wait a long time at the gate to be let out and it was only by chance the chef wandered past to take a delivery that we were buzzed out. Any other staff members were no where to be seen despite myself and other visitors knocking on the doors and shouting to see if anyone was there. I would dread to think how dangerous this could have been if there was some sort of emergency. Definitely need to put some money towards an exit button available to adults if they’re not able to staff the desk properly.

I have visited this place alot over the past 3 years and unfortunately it will be the last time for the forseeable future. This is the worst adventute island has ever looked there what looks to be various poo or vomit stains on the play area mats and extremely worn out equipment. God knows how many rolls of duct tape they had to use to cover up the rips but it is EVERYWHERE so much so that one top of a foam stool is entirely made up of it. In 2 places the mats are in such disrepair that the wood underneath is exposed. Its a shame to see this place fall into this state and its an accident waiting to happen. I hope it gets the investment it sooo sorely needs soon as it wouldnt pass any safety standards. Id avoid at all costs.

This festive season there’s a pop up real ice skating rink at Pirate Pete’s. My partner and I went the day after Boxing Day for a date without our baby. He had pre booked online and the tickets were £13.50 per adult. I personally think these are London/more commercial prices and for something like this £10.50 would be better. There isn’t a separate entrance so when you enter you directly are within the soft play reception. The ice rink itself is through a decorative tunnel and into the soccer room. There’s a lovely Xmas tree in the middle of the rink and I found the decorations really lovely. A note for improvement would be play Christmas songs not club music! The ice itself were chipped especially round the edges which caused beginners to be too scared to skate properly and staff began hacking away at it during the ice skating session which was a bit awkward. All in all something nice and different to do but definitely not for £13.50!

Rain was forecast today, and we're staying at a holiday park about 15 mins away, so we thought we'd book some soft play. Lovely venue with friendly staff, lots of well equipped areas for the children, and a nice menu to choose from. They were hosting a party whilst we were there, which seemed really well organised. Really great price, only £4 entry for a 2 year old and 2 parents. I noticed staff members consistently walking around, checking on children and play areas, which I thought was great! Highly recommended for anyone needing to entertain the children for a few hours!
