I cannot express how amazingly helpful the reception staff was. She was on her own with a constant queue but this did not stop her from helping us out. We initially arrived for the rhino experience. My husband has a broken ankle so we were struggling a bit. The keeper was so friendly and knowledgeable and very accommodating. We were able to get up very close to the rhino! We returned back to reception to enquire about a mobility scooter. The staff member was still dealing with a queue however managed to juggle it all and get us sorted. We definitely would not have made it around without one. The food from the Keepers Hut was very tasty (we had chicken wraps) and I would recommend! We also saw the baby bat earred foxes, so cute!! The staff were fantastic and really made our day enjoyable. So thank you!!

Africa Alive isn't the biggest zoo and the animal variety isn't the biggest, but they present the animals well - you get so close to them - and the enclosures are so large! Compared with some zoos I've seen across several countries, the welfare here is amazing. The animals look relaxed and happy. I went to one of the summer evening openings celebrating African culture. I must say, animals at twilight are so active, especially after a hot day. I would recommend visiting in the evening if you get the chance.

Lovely zoo. Animals seem happy and the talks are really engaging. The play area was not as good as on previous visits but still had a great day.

Paid for an experience to feed the lemurs, while this was good and great to be up and close with them, it was very short and the keeper wasn’t all really that interested. He could have had more knowledge on them and gave us any facts about them. Lacking in actual animals, no lions and a lot of the enclosures were empty. Place is clean and well kept and the centre area for animals is great. Staff at the front desk were happy and helpful. Not worth a second visit

We had an amazing day at Africa Alive. Arrived around 11:30 having booked tickets online the night before for 2 adults feeding the Giraffes and meeting the lemurs. Got through the entry quickly after having to sign for the activities. Started off by walking around to the African Hunting Dogs which were asleep up close to the front of their enclosure but very much visible. Next we had a walk up and look at the meerkat enclosure which we were very impressed with. Very good size for them and the inclusion of a yellow mongoose was a surprise. The interspecies interaction of them was great to watch. We got to the lemur walkthrough and waited for our meet the lemurs experience. As we had been told Jessie arrived around 5 mins before our experience and gave us some instructions for what we was about to do and what not to do. The experience left us incredibly happy getting to be incredibly close to the lemurs and the knowledge we gained about them. Great value at £15 each compared to what other zoos charge. We headed to the Keepers Hut for a drink and decided on some loaded chips too. Service was quick and the portion size was good for the price. Feeding the giraffes was next. The giraffe talk was happening when we arrived hosted by a very enthusiastic George who was a fountain of knowledge and clearly loves what he does. After the talk he brought us through for our experience. We got to feed Charlie the giraffe which was incredible to be up close to such an amazing animal. We then spent another 2 hours walking around the zoo seeing everything we could. It is well spaced out but is definitely worth walking around the full site as there is lots to see. The rhino house being one not to miss. You can get closer than I ever imagined you could! Overall it was a very memorable day and we would highly recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be going back.
