We recently visited Alexandra Park the first time for an outdoor concert. The sound is amazing. Having the stage at the bottom of the slope means that it is easy to get good views.
Alexandra Park is one of those places that instantly wins you over with its views — standing on the hill and looking across London is genuinely special. The space feels open, calm, and perfect for a walk, a slow coffee, or a quiet moment away from the city noise. The lake, greenery, and natural landscape give it a peaceful charm that’s hard to replicate elsewhere in London. At the same time, the park feels like it hasn’t fully kept up with its potential. Some areas would really benefit from renovation and more thoughtful development. Compared to other major London parks, it lacks engaging features — more interactive spaces, modern leisure equipment, or creative installations could make it far more attractive, especially for families and younger visitors. 💡 Helpful tips & honest advice * Come for the views — sunset here is absolutely worth it * Ideal for a walk or light activity, but don’t expect too many развлечения * Bring your own snacks or picnic — facilities are quite limited * Combine your visit with Alexandra Palace events for a fuller experience * If visiting with kids, plan extra activities — the park itself may feel a bit minimal ✨ Final thought Alexandra Park has incredible bones — history, space, and one of the best viewpoints in London. With some renovation and more engaging features, it could easily become one of the city’s top destinations.
Alexandra Park is a lovely green escape in the heart of the city. The rolling lawns, peaceful woodlands, and great views over London make it perfect for picnics, walks, or a relaxing afternoon outdoors. It’s calm, spacious, and full of local charm.
I lived within a short distance of Alexandra Palace and Park for many years and still return there every once in a while. They are steeped in history, much of which is in evidence today. There is a great view over London from the terrace, a place my uncle stood during WW2 watching the V1 doodlebugs fly over. The park has some nice walks along the old race course and around the hill the palace is built on. It's a wonderful place to be, especially on a warm summer's evening! It's a very easy walk to and from Muswell Hill.
Alexandra Park is one of those rare places that instantly lifts your spirits. Set high above North London, it offers some of the most breathtaking views in the city—on a clear day, you can see the skyline stretch for miles. That alone makes the visit worthwhile, but there’s so much more to enjoy. The park is vast, with a real sense of space and freedom. Whether you're out for a long walk, a jog, or just a relaxing afternoon, there’s room to breathe and explore. Families gather for picnics, dog walkers meander along the paths, and there’s always a peaceful corner to be found if you're after a quiet moment. What really stood out to me was the range of activities happening all around. From kids’ playgrounds and skateparks to boating on the lake and open-air events, there’s a genuine sense that the park belongs to everyone. The blend of natural beauty with the iconic Alexandra Palace perched above gives the park a unique character—both lively and serene. It’s a place where you can spend an hour or a whole day, and still find something new. Alexandra Park left me feeling refreshed, uplifted, and already planning my next visit.
