A charming and informative museum with lots of interesting local history. The Tudor building is beautiful, and the displays are well presented. Well worth a visit.

Lovely old building,staff friendly. School party in a couple of rooms so we were sold half price tickets. But was able to see those rooms anyway after school party finished. Worth a visit

A Tudor house that was once belonged to Prince Frederick Duleep Singh who brought the house and gave it the Mayor and Corporation of Thetford so it could be turned into a museum. It's a lovely tribute also to the last Maharajah who was very close to Queen Victoria. Plenty of artifacts from the prehistoric days to the present. There is also upper floor to see a lot more memobila. There's a small gift shop at the entrance and the staff were very nice and very helpful.

A bit expensive for such a small museum. When we visited there was a group of people in one room having a discussion, maybe it was related to the museum but we were unable to see that room which is not right considering the price. Lovely example of medieval architecture with bits and bobs of history in it.

We absolutely loved this museum - especially the linkage to India and Punjab as this house was donated to the people of Thetford by the son of Maharaja Dileep Singh. His life itself is fascinating and worthy of an entire museum so those enthusiastic about his story will find lots to love here. The museum also has rooms of nostalgia for past eras of local history and a current exhibition of Vikings. Lovely little place (max 1 hour visit) - great for all ages. Our 6 year old had a ball and won a prize for a trail. Clean loos, lovely staff. Top tip: go for the last hour of the day and it's only £2
