The best advice I can give is to go on their website. It's not open all the time but if you're interested in stone age or viking dwellings and how they lived this is the place to go.

We recently had our wedding at the ATC (6th June 2026) and it was truly magical. It’s such a beautiful site. We held our celebrant ceremony in the Earth House, our legal marriage in the Bronze Age house and we used the Viking Longhouse for our buffet/teas and coffees. The staff were so wonderful with us and flexible around set up. Andy was a fantastic help and made the process a lot smoother around the day (though they are not present for the actual day as ‘staff’ which is all explained before booking). Our guests absolutely loved the site (though the sheep didn’t enjoy the company quite so much and preferred to stay out of the way).

Unique setting. Gorgeous live music and stroy telling venue. Exceptional sound quality and really magical atmosphere. Never been anywhere quite like it.

An absolutely stunning little site, hidden away behind a school! This is such a great location for educational events around history. The ATC brings it all to life in a truly immersive way. The staff and volunteers are passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly, and the location is beautiful. Worth looking out for their events and historical craft sessions throughout the year.

An incredible place! We visit with our young family on the open weekends which are just fantastic. The drum workshop, storytelling and re-enactments are brilliant and really engaging for kids and there are other activities available to experience. Every building is unique and interesting and the cake in the longhouse is always delicious!
