Visited out of hours, I was the only one there at 8pm on an August Summer’s evening which was quite atmospheric. One gets the impression that this place isn’t crawling with visitors even during regular opening hours & also with free entry. There is a dedicated car park a stone’s throw away but this only opens when the property is open. Well worth 30 minutes of your time if in the area.

A free to wander around this wonderful old manor house, with looked views and lots of history, visited here a few times when on the island and worth a look around, it has a car park and a few footpaths to walk around.

What an interesting place, very quite, tucked away on the isle of Wight. How grand this house must have been at the hight of its residency. Now a shell in beautiful surroundings. Loved the tranquility as we sat on some of the many benches surrounding the old building

Realy pritty place though it is just a shell and it has a few interesting features worth a visit Nice place to walk the dogs beautiful village just before you get to it If on the Isle of Wight pay the place a visit. Named as the most beautiful house on the island back in the 17th century. It makes you think why here when all the business that was conducted was in London ??? Long way to go for a holiday home. Lovely place though. No cost to get in total free. So kids can have lots of fun.

A very interesting ruin to visit and free to enter. Plenty of room to let the children wander and enjoy a picnic. Dogs welcome too. Large free car park right next to the main entrance, but no other facilities. You can also walk to the Freemantle Gate...about a half mile..which was also part of the property. From the gate it is a pleasant walk up to the top of the hill to the obelisk first built in 1774, and restored in 1983, in memory of Robert Worsley. English Heritage have provided information boards which are well worth reading and there are some benches on which to sit.
