We held a birthday party here yesterday for my 8 year old son and it was awesome! He and his friends had the best time. The food was great, the table decorated with gamer balloons and Jade and the team couldn’t do enough for us. Great value for money and the perfect party venue! 🥳
I've been to the Arcade Club in Bury and now the Blackpool one. Bury seemed to have a lot more because it's 3 floors and there was Beat Sabre on VR in one room too. At the Blackpool one it's all on one floor and there are lots of machines. The bar and restaurant are what you see first. The fact you can play endlessly is amazing however unless you were playing these games in the 80s it's difficult to work out how to play many of them. I played a few with Japanese (?) instructions but have no idea what the object of some of the games was or what I was meant to do so if you're competitive that might be frustrating. I couldn't work out how to leave a level to go back and make it 2 player either so got stuck playing for a while. Maybe some brief notes or some staff around who know the games might help people who aren't nostalgic gamers to make the most of it? Food and drink was very reasonably priced (£1.50 for a can of pop and £6 for an 11 inch Margherita pizza) and we saw an area set up for a kid's party. Some tables or bins near games would be helpful too. Parking isn't free like Bury. The music based games aren't very audible. (I played Guitar Hero without hearing the song really). It's a great concept, great place, possibly a bit overwhelming on terms of noise levels and lights for some people but will keep you busy for an hour or more and cheaper than the prom and pier arcades!
There are not many people during the Easter holiday. Game consoles are mainly from the 1990s to the Millennium, and there are also relatively new dance machines and songs. I especially like World War II fighter-themed game consoles, including the level of the defense of London.
£16 per adult and worth every penny, limitless play time! We grew up in the 80s so we had some great flash backs playing the games here! Final Fight, Golden Axe, Starwars and was amazed to see Robocop and MoonWalker! Arcade machines well maintained, staff friendly, nice cafe and bar. Had a lot of newer games as well as the 'retro' games of my past.
Absolute nostalgia, especially when all the arcade machines are set to Freeplay, meaning that for £16 per person you can play everything in here until the cows come home. Highly recommended if you're into retro games or even just specific early 2000-10s games that's not around anymore. Would recommend hearing protection as it is very loud on the arcade floor.
