Wowzer!!! This place is awesome and if you're into trains it's a wonderland that keeps on tooting! My son and I rode the Ashton Court trails on our bikes and at the end returned to the car park only to be distracted by the undeniable shrill whistle of a steam train. Upon investigating the source of the whistle we discovered the Ashton Court Miniature Railway. What an amazing place that despite living in Bristol for over 25 years I had no idea existed. The members run attraction has a huge variety of miniature trains (steam, diesel and electric) that operate around a fantastic layout carrying members of the public for only a small charge. There's plenty to see and take in, with real effort put into the trains, signaling and track. The track features a model station with a full sized bridge crossing over the railway lines where adults and children wait to board the train of their choice. The journey is approximately a third of a mile and will take you over bridges, around the engine shed and even through a decent tunnel. It's a double track layout so you even get the added fun of passing other trains and their waving passengers. The operators and members of the railway are very friendly and approachable. I spent a considerable amount of time talking to a couple of train drivers getting an insight into the world of this miniature railway and the Bristol Society of Model and Experimental Engineers, and have now decided to become a member. I'm so impressed by the quality of the attraction and have a big interest in all trains big and small so now I'm going to join up to be a hands on part of it and one day maybe I'll actually be driving these trains myself. Toot toot!!!!

I went (with my husband and my little baby 6 months) on Bank Holiday. It was beautiful. The people were super friendly. Lots of babies and children. Ideal for a family trip. We'll definitely come back another day. The scenery and the journey are very beautiful.

A fantastic run place by volunteers which gives an even better experience. Stylish and well focussed on details. Did not expect such good prices also for rides. Well worth visiting mini trains. Keep doing what you doing.

Fantastic place to visit, particularly with young children. The people running it were super friendly and helpful. Our toddlers absolutely loved it, we'll definitely be going back again. Worth getting there early to avoid queueing for too long.

The Ashton Court Miniature Railway looks like a fantastic spot for families and train enthusiasts. There are several small railway tracks, and the setup seems really nice. Unfortunately, when I visited today, there was a notice stating that it is currently closed for maintenance. Hoping it reopens soon, as it looks like a great experience. Will definitely return to check it out! 🚂
