⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visited Avebury Stone Circle earlier this week and really enjoyed walking around it. I’d seen plenty of photos before, but you don’t quite appreciate the scale of the place until you’re actually there and walking amongst the stones. The grass was completely parched from the recent dry weather, which gave the whole landscape an almost apocalyptic look! It wasn’t the lush green Avebury you normally see in pictures, but I actually thought it made the stones stand out even more and gave the place a really unusual atmosphere. One of the nicest things about Avebury is how open and accessible everything feels. You can walk right amongst the stones and explore at your own pace, with sheep grazing around you and the village sitting right in the middle of this incredible historic landscape. It feels much less like a conventional tourist attraction and more like you’re discovering the place yourself. Definitely give yourself enough time to walk around rather than just stopping for a few photos. There’s much more to see than you initially realise, and some lovely views as you make your way around. A fascinating and very atmospheric place. Well worth visiting, especially if you enjoy history, photography or unusual places around the UK.

We've been to this special place hundreds of times. It is the biggest neolithic stone circle in Europe, with a village, shops, and a pub inside it. The circle is completely and is a great walk for families, dog walkers and those wanting to burn off the Christmas dinner calories. There's a cafe and shop that sells mystical items, like crystals, books, and other new age witch type of items. Silbury Hill, the neolithic chalk mound is very close by and worth walking too. The place is a great way to spend a day meeting up with family and friends and enjoying ancient British culture and prehistory.

Avebury Henge and Stone Circles was an incredible place to visit and one of the most atmospheric historic sites I saw in England. What makes Avebury so special is how open and peaceful it feels. Unlike some other ancient sites, you can walk right among the stones, take your time, and really experience the scale of the landscape. The stone circles are amazing, and the fact that the village sits within the ancient monument makes the whole place feel unique and alive. It feels less like a typical tourist attraction and more like stepping into history. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, and there are plenty of places to walk, explore, and take photos. I really enjoyed how relaxed the visit was. There is something very powerful about standing beside stones that have been there for thousands of years and imagining the people who built them. The nearby village, museum, and pub also make it easy to spend a few hours here. Overall, Avebury is absolutely worth visiting. It is peaceful, fascinating, and much more immersive than I expected. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in history, ancient landscapes, or a beautiful countryside day out.

Unlike many ancient sites, you're free to walk right among the stones, which makes the experience feel special. The sheer scale of the henge and stone circles is hard to appreciate until you're standing there amongst them, surrounded by thousands of years of history. It's a peaceful place and you can take your time and go as at your own. pace exploring the different circles and pathways. You can try to see them all or just plan a route to see a few stones, the choice is yours. The village nestled within the monument adds to its charm, with lovely views across the surrounding countryside. Whether you're interested in archaeology, history, photography, or simply enjoying a beautiful outdoor space, Avebury is a lovely place to visit. Parking is just outside the village for most visitors, but if you have a blue badge or are a National Trust member, you can park in the village car park. Parking for blue badge holders is free the tree.

Visiting Avebury Stone Circle is an unforgettable experience. Avebury does not charge any entrance fee and offers a more relaxed and immersive atmosphere than Stonehenge where you can walk freely among the ancient stones. This site provide a glimpse into Britain’s prehistoric past and is well worth the visit.
