Don't get caught by the RCP parking by the pub and restaurant when you come here! We accidentally parked up the road instead of on the trusts car park as did a few other poeple. Overall a beautiful walk, the top falls was the worst on our visit and the lower the best, you can get right by the side of the water on both. The flow was steady as it was dry and overcast, but the locals said it can be a super strong and busy when it rains and apparently this is the best time to come to view. Very well looked after and sign posted, just be careful with young children as there is a risk they could fall in.
A very beautiful place. The three main falls (upper, middle and low) are all within easy distance of the visitor centre car park and accessible to most visitors that can manage a slope or steps (ie maximum of 30 steps on return path from the lower falls). The walk to see all three is about 1200m all in I would say. Carved rustic benches are good to rest on, but don't come with a view so there wasn't a queue to sit on one. Parking cost £3.80 for 2 hours at the pay & display machine (June 2026). The visitor centre has a shop and a café with indoor and outdoor seating.
Aysgarth Falls offers an exceptionally well‑maintained and scenic natural environment, distinguished by its series of three waterfalls- Upper, Middle, and Lower- each providing a unique perspective on the River Ure’s character and movement. The area is thoughtfully managed, with clear pathways, accessible viewpoints, and informative signage that enhances the visitor experience without detracting from the landscape’s natural appeal. The walking routes between the falls are gentle and well‑structured, making the site suitable for a wide range of visitors, including families and those seeking a relaxed outdoor experience. The surrounding woodland and open riverside sections contribute to a calm and restorative atmosphere, while the falls themselves remain consistently impressive throughout the year, particularly following periods of rainfall. Facilities in the vicinity, including parking and a café, are practical and convenient, supporting a smooth and enjoyable visit. Overall, Aysgarth Falls stands out as a high‑quality destination within the Yorkshire Dales, offering a balanced combination of natural beauty, accessibility, and thoughtful stewardship.
Great place to visit. The falls are breath taking. The bridge is currently closed for a month and the diversion is terrible. If you are able bodied you can park in the car park on the right and walk down the hill and up the path to the visitors centre. Beautiful scenery through the woods and loads of lovely walks. There is a lovely dog friendly cafe on site aswell. Plenty of parking available. It is a great day out and anyone who visits are surely not going to be disappointed. We managed to get great weather for the weekend but I imagine if it's raining it won't be much fun although the falls are said to be more impressive when there is plenty of water in the river. We will definitely be going back at some point.
ÀAysgarth Falls in Yorkshire is one of the most unforgettable places I’ve visited in the UK. This waterfall isn’t just beautiful — it’s breathtaking. The sheer force of the water is unbelievable, and the way it flows across miles of rugged landscape feels like nature showing off its finest masterpiece. You can see the falls right from the main road, but the real magic begins when you walk closer. There are 3 viewpoints — Upper Falls, Middle Falls, and Lower Falls — each offering a completely different experience. The walk to all 3 is absolutely worth it. Every step brings you closer to the raw power and peaceful rhythm of the water. There’s no entry fee, though parking is paid. The visitor centre is excellent too, offering details about the falls and nearby attractions, making it easy to plan a full day out. Words honestly fall short when trying to describe the beauty of Aysgarth Falls. It’s a place that captures your heart instantly. Yorkshire truly is the beauty and the beast — and Aysgarth Falls is its mighty, magnificent monster. I haven’t seen another place in the UK that matches its charm, power, and natural elegance. I could visit again and again and never get tired of it. You can easily spend half a day here, soaking in the scenery, listening to the roar of the water, and feeling completely connected to nature. If you skip this place, you’re missing something truly special in life. Make time for it — you won’t regret it.
