Great place for kids to run around and learn about animals with multiple safe progressive play areas including a water and sand play pit, an old fire truck, helicopter, swings, diggers, remote control boats (paid) and a water blasting game (also paid). A great range of animals that isn’t too overwhelming for the little ones. Highlights were the otters around feeding time as well as the very cute baby meerkats Cafe food options are rather limited to pre packaged sandwiches and wraps. Coffee is a costa automated machine.

Paid about £45 for an adult and 2 children. Following is the review from my 11 year old: I went there on a weekend and had lots of fun. The meerkats and rabbits were extra cute 🐇 don’t expect big animals for they only have cute little animals like otters 🦦. Overall I had a great time.

We had a really lovely visit to Battersea Park Children’s Zoo and it turned out to be a great day out, especially with kids. The zoo is not huge, which actually makes it perfect for families with young children because everything is easy to walk around without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The animals were well cared for and there was a nice variety to see. The kids really enjoyed being able to get close to some of the animals and it kept them interested the whole time. The layout of the zoo is simple and easy to follow, so you can explore comfortably while letting the children take their time looking at everything. One of the best parts is that it sits right inside Battersea Park, so after visiting the zoo you can continue your day with a walk through the park, enjoy the playgrounds, or relax by the river. It makes the whole trip feel like a full day experience rather than just a short visit. Overall it is a great place to bring children who love animals. It is friendly, well maintained, and perfect for a relaxed family outing in London.

It was a damp and very cold winters afternoon when I visited Battersea Zoo, so I was not expecting many animals to be out. Surprisingly there were lots to see including birds, reptiles, insects, monkeys and farm animals. At certain times you could see animals being fed and the keepers would provide information about them. They had a gift shop, which had a lot of toys and a few souvenirs. It was the prices you would expect from a London attraction. Staff were polite. There was a great play area, which kept the little one occupied for a long time. Some of the area was a bit muddy, so I suggest wearing sensible shoes. There were toilets, a baby changing room and hand washing stations in the park. The toilets were clean. There is disabled access to most of the park. Some of the playground area is not accessible. The meerkat tunnel is also not accessible, but the glass was so scratched in it you could not really see a lot anyway. There are disabled toilets.

We recently visited Battersea Park Children’s Zoo and had a pleasant time overall. The playground area is fantastic — very well designed and enjoyable for children. However, we were a little disappointed that several animals were not visible during our visit, with only the information signs indicating what should be there. It felt a bit like most of the visit was focused on the play area rather than the zoo itself. Still, it’s a lovely place for families, and with a few more visible animals, it could be an even better experience.
