Visit websiteAbsolutely incredible experience, would definitely visit again. So much for children to engage with aswell. 100% recommend. Staff were lovely, helpful and I couldn't have asked for a better day.
A fantastic place to visit if you're interested in the Battle of Britain and aviation history. The outdoor exhibits are well maintained, with an impressive collection of aircraft, engines, and other historic displays. There is also an indoor museum (admission fee required) with even more interesting exhibits, and I especially enjoyed the flight simulator. The whole site is well looked after, informative, and a great way to learn about the Battle of Britain and RAF Hawkinge. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the Folkestone area.
Very nice Battle of Britain memorial, fairly simple displays, but be sure to see the German Stuka Art, very interesting. Beautiful views of the English Channel. You can just imagine how it must have looked during the Battle, with hundreds of planes in the air. Recommended
This is a must visit place for those of us that respect the sacrifices made by 3000 people over that short summer period, that stopped the invasion of Great Britain over that short summer period, that turned the tide that was overcoming Europe. We had booked a guided tour with cream tea, Jules was our expert guide, whose knowledge and observations added to the atmosphere of the day. His explanation of key figures like Sir Hugh Dowding whose foresight and organisational capabilities tgat were a key factor to our success to the youth of the day that gave up their futures for ours. All the facilities at this site are exemplary, the staff all friendly and helpful, the cafe is great with good food and an unparalleled view. Most importantly the displays which are interactive explain the battle and those involved in as much or as little depth as you require and will appeal to all ages. A fabulous place to visit and pay homage to those few.
Lovely memorial to all the very brave men who fought to protect their King and Country. There is one particular statue which is of a pilot looking out to sea, waiting for his friends to return, very sad, very poignant. There is nice visitors center. Plenty of parking. Free entry.
