Nice park with great views and plenty of places to walk
The beacon is a great place to the kidds, lots of area for them to run around, gly kits or play football. There is a small play area for the young children, and a larger play ground for teenagers while the adults have a coffee. Dogs are welcome as well.
Lovely country park. It's so clean and well maintained, but not over maintained, if that makes sense! The café is fab, with a good selection of things to buy. The toilets are spotless. Great play areas too!
There are a couple of carparks to use. We always choose the one near the visitor centre as that has the toilets in it. This is quite a short walk if you follow the main path but you can go off into the woodlands. In one of the woodlands you’ll find some wooden sculptures, including the Gruffalo (although he seems to have lost his ears). The viewpoint from the top gives some great views on a clear day and if you have kids with you there’s a really decent park.
What a great place to go with your dogs, your children, or just yourself. You can walk or just sit and enjoy the view from the viewing point. There are paths and benches and bins! There is also a recreation area where children can play. There are large green spaces, as well as lots of smaller areas to explore. A water station is available, which is ideal for cleaning muddy paws, and I think there's a cafe, I can't be sure if it's still open. There are toilets available for public use, which can be very useful as one could spend hours at the country park. I could say a lot more. Maybe you could visit and find out for yourself.
