I came across this little gem the other day. To access it you go down a little farm track road, drive slowly and you will be fine. There is a small but free car parking area. Dogs are allowed but must remain on leads at all times. I spent around 1 1/2 hours there and only came across two people. I tried two of the bird watching huts out which are amazing and even filled in my observations in the diary which was in one of them. I shall definitely be returning to this beautiful and tranquil wildlife nature reserve.

Very beautiful wetland nature habitat. Suitable for well behaved dogs too. Notts Wildlife Trust owned and managed. Worth joining the Trust to ensure these places remain to be enjoyed.

Small car park at the end of a very rutted, bouncy and poorly maintained track. Once there, however, the paths around the lakes are very good. Couple of hides and a viewing platform to sit in. Not at all busy, which is good.

A really gorgeous, out of the way but easy to find, nature reserve with plenty of birdwatching huts, benches, picnic tables, nice places to sit down and have a picnic or a chat, there is even some disabled and wheelchair friendly walkways. The lakes and other surrounding areas are clearly looked after and aid all natural wildlife in the area. Loads of different types of birds to be seen And actually a blissful, quiet place to escape. Child friendly, disabled friendly, elderly friendly, unfortunately no toilets or a café so do bring a warm drink and something to eat, however the car park is free so allows for a cheap day out- car park gates close at 5 pm, but believe the park is open to the public via walking 24/7.
