Great ruin, ideal if you understand the historical perspective, some areas are subject to falling masonry. Free entry
Very atmospheric, with some amazing specimin trees. It is just a shame the museum only opens at weekends - but completely understandable, as it is staffed by volunteers.
Free entry to the palace ruins and museum run by English Heritage, donations welcomed but not compulsory. Nice to see local history within a short walk from the Bishops Waltham square. Small carpark on site, but a five minute walk from the main carpark in the village (Also free on Sundays)
Even though the palace is a ruin there's still a lot to explore here, and the plaques that are around the site are informative enough to paint a nice picture of how the palace operated. It's a great little stop especially for families as it's free to enter, there's a great open space in the middle for picnics and lots for children to climb! Unfortunately the museum is only open from May so we didn't get to see inside.
It's free, the ruins are quite impressive. The museum is shut on Mon/Tue which is when I went so I guess I missed some of the experience. Picnic benches around so it's a chill place to have some lunch in-between visiting all the other cool stuff in the area.
