Spectacular Palace with self guided tours. Incredible history. The best part of the day was the £5 "buggy" ride through the gardens. Incredible variety of large beautiful trees, a wonderful waterfall and beautiful lake.

A great day out, lots to see. It's a shame things started closing so early (16.45 last entry, last train etc) as there wasn't time to see everything. The good thing is that the daily ticket and annual pass are the same price, so you can visit again, but as I don't live in it UK that's not really an option for me.

Beautiful palace full of so much history. Essentially about the Churchill family !s its the hiatoric family residence. But it has exhibitions throughout the palace about different periods of time during the palaces history. The exhibition we saw was about the architects who built it and the story of how it came to be. Plenty of food and snacks and general amenities. Parking is not a problem and its free. Great kids play area too. Easily spend a whole day. Only downside is that it is pricey to get in but that does give you 12 months admission. Still a great day out

So much to do here !! It's impossible to do it all in a day. Amazing new play park for children, walked gardens , the palace itself, massive grounds. A gorgeous day out. If recommend upgrading to the annual pass, it works out much better !

A thoroughly enjoyable day trip (annual pass was brought) we booked "off the cuff "day out for 1/5/26 not realising there was an event. "Jousting"weekend. we set off at 6am from S Devon, and arrived just before opening 10am (stopped off for breccy on the way). no queuing, and was able to enter the grounds at a steady relaxed pace. From a previous grumpy review we had become aware of repairs being carried out to the roof. THIS DID NOT DETER OUR VISIT, repairs are vital if you want future generations to enjoy the same experience we had today.. if not better. The characters played by the staff were interactive, & they enjoyed speaking with the public (us) & answered any questions we had. which made our day even more lovelier. The event "Jousting " was also super fun for all ages, and a bonus, because when we booked we didn't realise it was on ! A walk to the neighbouring village Woodstock was a pleasant walk around the lake, which led us into the market town with a scrumptious sandwich shop, &other independent shops, and led us back thru back into the palace grounds. overall the day was lovely helped by the glorious sunshine.
