Café located at the base of Brean Down accessible via a walk down from the beach
Great sandy beach, parked in the furthest car park and payed in the cafe. Was very quiet just a handful of families around. Was very windy but with the warmth of the sun was not so bad. Arrived around 2pm and the sea was probably it's furthest out.... We attempted to walk up to the coastline but was not too keen on trudging through the sludge that remained.... Never seen it this bad before. I'm still rating this beach 5 as I imagine when the sea came back in then it would have been washed out and the upper sand be ok to walk on. The beach itself is very clean, sand lovely to walk on and a nice little amusement area towards the beginning part of the road leadingto where we parked. Dogs also allowed on some parts of the beach. We also saw somepeople riding horses on the beach which was cool.
Pretty good beach! Mainly sandy with a small pebble area by the cliffs on the far right side. Road is narrow to it but not bad, parking is scarce to. However there are multiple caravan (standing) and camping travelling grounds right on the front of the beach. There is also a Woodland Trust shower an wash station with a men's, women's and disabled/unisex bathroom. They look nice but were absolutely trashed with sand, water and tissue everywhere (so be careful when using them, like in all public spaces). Overall not a bad beach! If your looking for a chippy for dinner, I went to Six Ways chippy, about 20 mins away, guy was lovely an food was incredible! (Photos were taken around 7pm ish when it got quieter and sea was moving out)
Lovely beach, ideal bathing spot. Very clean with toilets and cafe close by. Parking accessible and reasonably priced.
Visited din the off season, parking at the NT was easy, the cafe had good hot drinks on such a wet weather day and enjoyed walking over the Brean down. The beach was wide and relatively flat, with lots of space.
We stayed at Unity Beach holiday park, from there you are 5 minutes to the beach. You can turn left and walk all the way to Brean Down then up to the old WW II Fort with great views towards Wales, or turn right and walk along the sands into Burnham on Sea, both about a 12 mile round trip
