Beautiful, peaceful location with a wide variety of birds calling it home. It's just under a mile to walk around the lake on an easy access path. Walks can be extended through the woodlands. The toilets are clean & tidy. There's a place to grab coffee, cake, cookies & milkshakes across the road (The Cow Shed) and sometimes there's a butty van on site (that's unpredictable tho'). The water is clear & clean, and my son regularly kayaks here (with a group).

Lovely woodland walk. Plenty of options, muddy or otherwise. Toilets on site. Milkshake shack opposite as well. Walk and a milkshake.... What's not to love!

Great for leisurely strolls, pathway around the mere as well as woodland walks. Plenty of benches to sit and rest and enjoy the scenery,watch the wildlife and listen to the sound of the birds. Very relaxing. Lots of available parking refeshments available opposite the reserve with further parking available. Parking free for blue badge holders and main walk way suitable for wheelchairs.

It's a nice space, but bewildering to have dogs running loose everywhere in a nature reserve ! Surprisingly few species of water birds , considering the size of the lake. Not really worth visiting as a true nature reserve but nice as a public park.

It's a lovely lake and a nice easy walk around the lake. And it has paths leading off to other walks through the woodland. So you can make your walk as big or small as you like. Lots of nature trails and lots of things the kids can spot along the way. The little cow shed next door to the reserve so you can grab a cuppa. Card only.
